Did anybody else join IE because their partner cheated on them first? Originally I was bitter and mad, and wanted to get some sort of secret revenge. But now I kind of get it, the whole affair thing. I almost feel cheated that I had stayed faithful for 17 years, oh well, they do say that life begins in your 40's 😝

Nope. I joined because my wife has lost her libido. A menopause thing. And if she gets it back again then I'll be signing off here and hot-footing it to bed. But in the meantime, I still want to be wanted (the Encounter) for something more than best-friendship (and she is my best friend, just that there's a contradiction - she wants me to herself sexually, but she doesn't want me sexually, and hasn't for ten years (the Illicit part)).
Reading the comments, there seem to be some genuinely lovely people here - many of whom are in the same boat, I think. I haven't paid up yet - but I think I'm going to be biting the bullet soon. Even if not to meet, it would be nice to chat to a few of you personally, and hear your stories. And then, maybe, meet up.

Revenge dosen’t really work … you are screwed up to begin with and you will be even more confused at the end of it …
It’s not really fair to add the OP in this situation… some men/women are here for different reasons…if you didn’t know that your prospective affair partners’ reasons then you have take a chance …I would never ever get involved with 3 people in the mix …😜😉

It begins in your 50s now but yes I've joined cause partner cheated first and seeing how many are on here I dont feel guilty anymore

No is the answer. I decided to join as i felt i needed to do this for me. To do this out of anger or revenge would mean i would carry that into the IE relationship. I am peace with my sexless marriage x

Two wrongs don’t make a right ….never do this because your partner has done it …even though your wife has given you the go ahead ….if you think it hurts now …you will feel 10 times worse…..your wife only wants you to do it because it will make her feel less guilty…..hold your head up high and keep your conscience clear …😊
