About Me:

Seeking a liaison with a connection that, ideally, starts out on an intellectual, romantic, emotional. Well, one can dream, and aim high, at least!

I am reasonably intelligent, university educated, professionally employed, and have been told that I am both decently good-looking and charming (although these are in the eye of the beholder), although perhaps a little shy at times. I’m about 6’ tall, dark hair, blue eyes, solidly built but not unfit. I would like to believe that I am entertaining company and a reasonable conversationalist - I have also been told that I am ‘intense’ although I’m not entirely sure whether this is a good or a bad thing!

I am married with a family and although having come close to separating/divorcing, remain so and do not intend or expect to change this. As for many of us here, I am sure, the relationship is … companionable … but lacks (and has done for some time) any spark of affection, romance or intimacy. I would like to find a relationship that can fill this shaped hole which may exist in both of our lives, with the discretion to not disrupt our unsatisfactory lives at home. I work in central London and have enough professional scope in arranging my diary for evening meetings, lunches and occasional day-time liaisons, as well as the ability, with some careful planning, for weekends; additionally there will be several periods of multiple weeks during the year when my availability will be more or less inconstrained.

I like to consider myself an intellectual - I love reading both fact and fiction, thinking and discussing philosophy, history, politics. Exercise largely consists of long walks over hills - the South Down and the Lake District are favourites. I enjoy a wide range of music from Bach through Leonard Cohen, to Led Zeppelin. Although somehow I have never managed to ‘get’ opera.

All these aspects are more important that mere physical appearance - whether there is physical attraction or not is just something that may or may not happen - but it is, in my experience, almost impossible to tell until one can look someone in their eyes and hear their voice.
