I enjoy words, stimulating conversations, and witty banter. Other likes include: a glass of wine (so long it's not orange); immersive novels; walking London and other European cities; expansive skies; forests; the arrival of swallows and swifts; Bach, people-watching, and a good meal.

We're unlikely to get on if your main interests are: golf; cars; boxing; TV soaps, Reform, or crochet.

I'm said to be youthful in body and mind; you'd have to the judge of that. I enjoy gyrating at the gym, exploring by walking, and pedalling around town.

I don't have an idealised list of requirements, or a set type. It all depends on the strange alchemy of personalities, and the crucial element of connection, to make this enjoyable, thrilling and life-enhancing.

But let's at least say - someone with a sense of fun and adventure, seeking an escape from the rest of life, able to chat, curious, and open-minded about people and the world. And someone who actually wants to meet, rather than indulge in mere online flirtation.

The reality is that if we're intrigued, the only way to find out if there's a potential for connection is to chat a little and then meet up. Who knows what may follow?
