This entirely depends on how often you want to meet and how much flexibility you want. Some people prefer to book time well in advance and some prefer the ability to do things spontaneously. Distance doesn't matter if you can plan. I met an IE here once who actually lived in the US - she had registered here while she was in the UK visiting her sister. We got on well and I started visiting the US every other month, and her coming to the UK every other month. That worked for a some time, until we both went into new relationships and ended the IE.

Closer is, for me, definitely better. It is more intense, more connected, and so much more a real part of your life. Maybe because the stakes seem higher, the illicit-ness is also hightened ... Win Win .... ;-)

Had a friend who said it was better to have an affair at least an hour away from where you lived! Less risky and not necessarily having to look over your shoulder so to speak 😉

If I make a connection here I'm happy to travel, I think reading the comments you could build a wonderful connection, if the distance is good it would be good.

But then as somebody else said, travelling for 200 miles or more it could create so passionate buzz, you'd have more time to make sure the place was perfect, the little bits of attention to detail were right.

In this day and age, technology allows you to connect like never before, but the in the flesh can take on a whole new meaning.

So personally, either is good - I enjoy time in my car,
