Also being divorced I don't have the jeopardy that others do. But IE is an odd kind of twilight zone that people outside of IE don't fully understand.

So if anyone I know happens to see me out with someone we "met on an on line dating site" usually stops any further requests for information.

I do confide though in a couple of lovely ladies I met on here from a previous occassion (on line not IRL). Sometimes it's nice to chat to someone who is part of this world. Have a vent, ask them if you're misreading something, and let them do the same with you.

One of them I get along with so comfortably that we've both said on more than one occassion, if it were not for the distance we'd both save a lot of hassle searching on here and most likely get along with each other quite nicely as IE's:-)

Definitely not what happens if you fall out
It can cause you lots of problems you don't want

One female friend who a) understands I’m trapped in my marriage and b) keeps an eye on my location on her phone if I’m meeting someone new.

She is a saint and I love her dearly.

I think the only reason you would ever do this is if you enter into the adventure with a friend and therefore keep each other updated on how it is going. Other than that, I don't see how it is anything that you would talk about with friends at all.

I'm single but I still would NOT tell anyone from my "real" life, period!

I've never told anyone. This part of my world is my only world that nobody knows. Golden rule that I was once told is "always keep something back for yourself". This is exactly that.

No, the reason I am here in this space is because I need some space for me to be myself away from the hum drum of everyday life.

It isnt that I dislike my everyday life, just need sometime out of it every now and then to stay sane. Like messaging here with somebody who is experiencing the same feelings let's you know that you arebnot on your own.

If you tell someone in your everyday life then it is no longer just you and the person you meet from here!
